London National Financial Planning Symposium

The Story of Financial Planning

Through our 2016 National Financial Planning Symposiums we take inspiration from the world's greatest storyteller, William Shakespeare, as we celebrate the evolution of the story of Financial Planning. Never before has professional financial planning been so central to Government policy and never before has it been so important for us to tell our story to a public desperately in need of our services.

Storytelling is an art that brings a topic to life in a way that engages and inspires the audience. A good story holds us captive. It stretches the limits of our imagination and entertains us as we marvel at possibilities. Good stories touch us and leave us vulnerable. They take us on journey in which we make emotional connections with the characters, ultimately blurring the boundaries between our own lives and desires. Global brands have perfected the use of storytelling to demonstrate the relevance of their products to potential clients in ways that make them want to buy. Successful Financial Planners know only too well the power of storytelling in helping clients to understand and prioritise their goals as well as realise the potential consequences of inaction.

"I usually want to come out of conferences with 3 key points... [last year] I came away with 13!"
