The Personal Finance Society’s quarterly regional conferences offer members a day of topical, insightful, and business relevant CPD, delivered by leading subject specialists. The event offers the key opportunity to network and share good practice with your professional peers, local to where you live and/or work.
Attendance is complimentary for Personal Finance Society members and lunch and refreshments will be provided. Delegates will be eligible to claim over 1 hours 30 minutes CPD, should they consider the content relevant to their professional development needs.

Trevor is a Director and has over 30 years experience in financial services. He was formerly managing director of Link Insurance Services Ltd for 17 years, before merging with Advisa in February 2008. He is passionate about providing the highest quality of personal service and works closely with his clients to help identify their true goals and ambitions to achieve a work / life balance and financial security. Trevor is the current Jersey Chairman of The Personal Finance Society and was a member of the JFSC working party on the Review of Financial Advice (RFA). He is an enthusiastic squash player and golfer and is currently captain of the Jersey Squash and Racketball Club. He follows the Jersey Rugby team and is also their match day announcer. He is married with 2 boys and is also keen Doncaster Rovers and Manchester United football fan.
Channel Island Financial Ombudsman (CIFO)

Douglas Melville is the inaugural Principal Ombudsman and Chief Executive of the Channel Islands Financial Ombudsman (CIFO) which resolves disputes arising from the provision of retail financial services in and from Jersey and Guernsey. Doug recently completed four years as the elected Chair of the International Network of Financial Services Ombudsman Schemes (INFO Network). He has advised internationally on financial consumer protection and dispute resolution with the World Bank and the OECD. From 2009 until 2015, he served as Ombudsman and CEO with the Canadian Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments. In 1996 Doug designed and established the original Canadian Banking Ombudsman for Canada’s banking industry. Following his undergraduate studies in biochemistry, economic geography and political science, Doug completed a law degree, an MBA and a master’s in competition and international trade law. Doug qualified as a barrister and solicitor in Canada later becoming a professional mediator and arbitrator. He became an Ombudsman in 2006. Before that, he held senior management and legal/regulatory roles in the banking, investment and insurance sectors. He holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and has served on a wide range of boards and advisory bodies in the private and not-for-profit sectors including the Ombudsman Association for the UK and Ireland. Doug moved to Jersey from Canada in 2015 to take up his current appointment with his family. They are all active in the community and he currently serves as a States of Jersey-appointed Vice-Chair and Commissioner with Jersey Overseas Aid.

You will be able to download your CPD Certificate from the PFS website after the event, and will receive an email within 48 of the event with the link to download your CPD certificate.
