Vibrant, exciting and relevant. It's a place where you’ll be educated and entertained, taken beyond the familiar and encouraged to push boundaries. A hothouse for ideas and inspiration.

Dry and predictable it won't be, so if you're expecting the usual, prepare to be disappointed.

FAQs

The Festival will be in Hall 20 of the NEC. The NEC is signposted from all motorways and major routes including the M42, M40 and M6 and is just few minutes away from Birmingham Airport by free and fast air-rail link. It's a 10 minute walk from Birmingham International Railway Station. Free parking facilities are available for all Festival attendees. Please follow the signs to North Parking N2, N3 and N4 at the NEC. You need to show your Festival badge when leaving the car park to use this facility at no cost.

Registration will take place in Hall 20. All participants should register on arrival. A barcode will be sent to you before the event by separate email. Please bring this with you to the Festival and scan at one of our Festival self- service Kiosks.

Registration desks will be open;

  • Tuesday 7 November: 11am – 8pm
  • Wednesday 8 November: 7am – 4pm

Once checked in, please wear your badge at all times when you are at the event, for security reasons and to gain access to conference sessions. Lost or mislaid badges should be reported immediately to the registration desk.

 

The Festival programme is available on the website and on the event app. Presentations are available on a first come first served basis and it is not possible to book seats so please make sure you allow plenty of time to arrive at theatres for sessions you really want to see.

Theatre presentations will be recorded and posted online after the event to allow delegates to view sessions that they missed live.

To obtain your CPD hours please ensure you register your attendance on arrival. All theatre presentations qualify as unstructured CPD. If you scan into theatre presentations, it will enable us to update your Attendance Certificate to include the specific sessions you attend – if you do not scan in, your Attendance Certificate will not be updated. Your Attendance Certificate can be found if you log in to your My Events, on the PFS events website, after the event has finished.

Please help us by wearing your badge at all times and by not leaving unlabelled packages or luggage unattended. Delegates should note that they are responsible for their own belongings and that the conference organisers cannot accept any responsibility for lost items.

A variety of food will be available at the Festival to cater for a wide range of tastes and requirements. It will be on a cash/card basis. Visit the Festival stalls and enjoy a selection of street food. You can also visit the Edge Café situated in the hall. Coffee and tea will be provided free of charge for all attendees throughout the Festival. On Tuesday 8th we will offer breakfast muffins for the early arrivals!

With the support of our sponsors we have put together a fantastic exhibition for you to enjoy when you are not in presentation sessions. All areas of Financial Services are represented as well as Regulators and a number of lifestyle exhibitors.

There are games to play, cars to test drive, challenges of skill and co-ordination as well as drinks and snacks. Please make sure that you make the most of the largest exhibition of Financial Services in 2017!

There are nearly 100 stands in total across 3 main areas; The City, Silicon Valley and The Marketplace – don’t miss out on two areas of special focus – The Fintech Start-Up Café where you can listen to elevator pitches of the latest tech offerings – and Future Generations where you can discuss the many and varied routes into Financial Services for new professionals of all ages.

There will be a free WiFi service throughout the Festival venue.

Smart casual or just casual…. this is a Festival!

Not ready to call it a day? Stick around after the sessions on Tuesday 7 November. Drinks will be served from 18:30 to 20:30 and there will be entertainment laid on – very much in the Festival spirit.

If you have booked accommodation through our housing bureau you will haved received a final confirmation of your booking last week. On arrival at the hotel you will just need to state your name.

Attendance at the Festival is offered free of charge however food and beverages must be purchased by attendees from outlets at the venue. Should you book your place and subsequently find you are unable to attend please let us know as soon as possible so we can allocate your place to another attendee. If you give us less than 2 working days notice of cancellation, we will charge an administrative fee of £50 (+VAT) to cover costs.

Yes you can attend the festival, however please note that if you have already attended more than one Personal Finance Society event, you will need to join the Personal Finance Society to attend (non-members may only attend a maximum of two events).
