Presentation 1: Sustainable Investing in an Era of Geopolitics
The world has changed. Trade wars, energy shocks, defence spending surges, and the fracturing of global supply chains have reshaped the investment landscape in ways few anticipated. For many advisers, that shift has raised a legitimate question: does sustainable investing still make sense in a world that feels anything but sustainable? This session is designed to answer that question honestly. We'll look at what the current macro regime actually means for sustainable portfolios, tackle the objections your clients are most likely raising, and show you how a rigorous, evidence-based approach to sustainable investing can strengthen the advice you deliver. By the end, we hope you'll leave with both the conviction and the tools to have better conversations with clients who care about where their money goes.

Presentation 2: Markets face a game of two halves
Speaker: Daniel Casali

Financial markets in 2026 resemble a game of two halves, with bulls dominating the first half from strong earnings, surging AI investment and supportive policy. However, a crude oil supply squeeze, inflation pressures and bond market volatility threaten the outlook in the second half. It is therefore important to remain disciplined and balanced in your assessment of market opportunities and risks. Even so, global equities look set to continue positive momentum into the rest of the 2026.
Learning Outcomes
- Explain how earnings resilience, AI-led capital investment, and supportive policy have underpinned equity market returns
- Evaluate the potential impact of oil supply constraints, inflation persistence, and bond market volatility on asset allocation decisions. Identify where client portfolios may be vulnerable or resilient
- Confidently articulate the “two halves” market narrative to clients, helping manage expectations around volatility while reinforcing long-term investment discipline.
